Go Van Gogh is obviously a tribute to the the famous Dutch master. The Painted Pony featured two of Van Gogh's most recognizable paintings with a humorous rendition of his facial appearance, complete with a missing ear,. The artist who created Go Van Gogh was the sculptor who designed the actual horse forms used in The Trail of Painted Ponies. As talented at painting as she is at sculpting, Star Liana, who also breeds horses on her New Mexico ranch, knows her horses.
Go Van Gogh is playfully named after the famous racehorse, Go Man Go.
