Personalization
Native Jewel pony is a phenomenal tribute to the Native American love of jewelry. It is adorned with jewelry of silver and turquoise, bead work and ceremonial regalia. These elements are recognized as a cultural expression for North American Indians and cover the pony's brown back and mane, and orange body.
The purple of the star studded tail is brought out in the detail of the design of a lizard and turtle. These animals are small mosaics and add to the feather and star decorations. The pony stands on a black rectangular base, gracefully on three legs and kicks up the hoof of one front leg.
Maria Ryan - an accomplished artist and designer from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho - has been winning awards and pleasing collectors around the world for decades. Her research into the meanings and symbolism behind the designs used in classic Southwestern jewelry, coupled with a fearless artistic style that leads her to experiment with different materials to achieve special effects in her art, resulted in this stunning tribute.
Native Jewel Pony was introduced in Winter 2007 by Trail of Painted Ponies. It has not been retired.
