"Wie-Tou" Pony is a dusty desert brown completely covered in ancient Native American symbols.
A large white cow skull with gray horns and a black and turquois flower adorn the two sides of the pony. Cave-like drawings of running horses and deer, green and red salamanders, snakes, rabits, coyotes, hawks, red handprints with eyeballs, and more. Wie-Tou's black mane and tail have painted blue and white feathers with red tips. The snout and legs of the pony are wrapped with a gray and white and pale green geometric design.
The artist says: "I wanted to include the Spirits that guide and protect us, and every one I've painted has 'good medicine.'" Barbara Janowitz lives in Florida but grew up on a Colorado horse ranch.
Wie-Tou was introduced in Summer 2007 by Trail of Painted Ponies. It was retired. July 2008 - so it had a short one year "outing." the last Wie-Tou figurine made was #2E/861. That means 20,861 ponies were manufactured.
