"Navajo Black Beauty" is adorned with beaded detail that covers the entirety of this primarily black pony. Each side of this pony tells a different Navajo story using yellows, blues, reds and turquoise, as well as brown to represent the people. One side captures the myth "Sun's Journey through the Sky." The other side has "Man Placing the Stars." Both designs are traditional Navajo basket weavers styles.

The artist, Barbara Duzan, is known for her bead work. This pony gives us two wonderful Navajo myths that we can pass along to future generations. The artist lives near Scottsdale where she is surrounded by the magnificence of the Sonora Desert. 

Navajo Black Beauty was introduced in Summer 2007 by Trail of Painted Ponies. It was retired January 2009. The last Navajo Black Beauty produced was #3E/180. That means 30,180 of these ponies were made.
