Many Native people from different continents are depicted on this pony.
On the pony's face are Aztec and Mayan warriors. Elsewhere on the pony are tribal figures from an Australian Aborigine to an African Masai woman.
The artist, Frank Salcido, fulfilled his artistic mission of using positive themes to contemporarily showcase traditional lifestyles when he created this pony. "As an artist, I have always had this vision of different cultures around the world coming together sharing their beliefs, customs, blending as one on this small planet we call Mother Earth," says Frank Salcido, a Navajo from the Standing House Clan.
Native People's Pony was introduced Winter 2006 by Trail of Painted Ponies. It was retired January 2007. the last Native People's figurine manufactured was #2E/720. That means 20,720 ponies were produced.
