From the Trail of Painted Ponies: "Golden Feather"

First this Painted Pony was painted entirely with gold leaf. Then, experimenting with porcelain paints, and working with abstract designs this glittery "wow" pony was created. A carved saddle is made of feathers as the artist gave “Golden Feather Pony” a textured depth and radiant beauty.

Much of the appeal of Painted Ponies is the way artists are invited to let their imaginations run wild. With this Pony, Lynn Bean, began by gold-leafing her entire Pony. Then, using rich and colorful porcelain paints, she added splashy abstract designs. Finally, where a saddle usually sits, she outfitted her Pony with large, jeweled feathers. In the end, she invented a magical creature that is out of this world.
