Copper Enchantment is a replica of the painted pony created by the multi-talented Oregon artist Lynn Bean, who also created Fetish Pony and other painted ponies.
This Appaloosa horse, a North American breed known for having dark spots on a light background, is decorated with traditional Native symbols of strength, spirit and power. The leather, feathers and beads that form lightning bolts around the neck signify speed, while the hand print above the hind leg signifies ownership.
The two feathers at the top of the tail are real feathers. One is green and yellow. The second feather, just above it, is maroon and grey. Shiny copper paint creates a reflective quality around the hooves, face, mane and tail, while real blue, brown and green feathers give more dimensionality and a softer texture.
The saddle is painted to represent a woven material, tied under the horse's belly with string for rope and bead work. Dimensions: 7.5"L x 2.5"W x 7"H.
