Personalization
The designs on this beautiful painted pony are derived from Anasazi pottery of a thousand years ago. The Anasazi culture flourished BEFORE the Spanish arrived to New Mexico. The Anasazi or "Ancient Ones" were primarily farmers, growing corn, beans, and squash in the Four Corners area on the Colorado Plateau.
For the artist, the Anasazi also represent the logs hauled by hand for hundreds of miles to build the structures of Chaco Canyon, the heart of Anasazi culture. The intricate curving and geometric designs are a silvery white on deep jet black, and he horse has a pure black face and tail. The bottom photo does a good job of showing you how intricate the design is. Very handsome.
Anasazi Spirit Horse was introduced by the Trail of Painted Ponies in Summer 2004. It was retired 5 years later January 2009. The last Anasazi Spirit Horse was numbered #5E/696 - which means that 40,696 of this pony were produced.
