Another exciting day at the track is depicted with this grand display of a horse racing sculpture.

The jockey's feet are secured in the stirrups as he leans forward and lifts his bottom half off the saddle. He wears a helmet, and his face is near the horse's mane, attempting to contour to the shape of the horse and be flexible with the pounding of the race. The jockey's hands hold on tight to the reins on both sides of the horse's neck.

The horse on this sculpture is represented with pure speed, as two legs remain on the ground, two in the air, and the muscle of his hind and front quarters are defined by darker carving. The wind created by the pace of the race blows through the mane and tail.

This horse figurine has an ancient looking copper coating and stands on a reddish-brown wood base. A wonderful gift for a horse racing fan, with room for a plaque that we can add to the base.
