This sculpture is a rendering of one of the four "Horsemen of the Apocalypse", a term used to describe a concept from the New Testament of the Christian Bible, in chapter six of the Book of Revelation. The four horsemen are often referred to as Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. They are part of an apocalyptic vision in which God summons and empowers them to wreak Divine havoc on the world. This chilling sculpture represents Death in frightening detail. Mounted on his fiery diseased green steed, this skeletal horseman somewhat reveals the grim reaper with his blood covered scythe. wears simple robes of red and blue, his bony body displayed beneath. His plagued mount shows festering sores of disease, its green skin and ominous black eyes staring outward, marching on bones of the dead.
