| | "Navajo Black Beauty" is adorned with beaded detail that covers the entirety of this primarily black pony. Each side of this pony tells a different Navajo story using yellows, blues, reds and turquois, as well as brown to represent the people. One side captures the myth "Sun's Journey through the Sky." The other side has "Man Placing the Stars." Both designs are traditional Navajo basket weavers styles. The artist, Barbara Duzan, is known for her bead work. This pony gives us two wonderful Navajo myths that we can pass along to future generations. The artist lives near Scottsdale where she is surrounded by the magnficence of the Sonoran Desert.
